  • Competitively Priced

Our mission is effective, efficient and sustainable farming; streamlining the road to market so that we supply competitively priced wholesale organic shea butter.

The Problem

Northern Ghana is blessed with vast wild Shea plantations and predominately women involved with significant financial potential to change the livelihoods of the rural women in northern Ghana.

Despite women dominant engagement they have not reaped the rewards of their labour. This is due to:

  • The current limitations in production capabilities
  • Absence of a reliable market
Inadequate robust production process hindering provision of consistent quality butter

The Solution

  • Provide a natural alternative ( Skincare; moisturising and nourishing properties.
  • Food; a healthier alternative as its rich in monosaturated fats)
  • Establish robust production process to ensure consistent quality.
  • Acquire internationally recognised certification(Ecocert) to ensure premium price.
  • Training of women in GPP to ensure quality and reduce contamination.
  • Enforce organic shea farming practices, e.g Shea parklands
  • Integrated rural women into the shea supply chain in an ethical and sustainable manner
  • Profit sharing to improve livelihood of rural women
  • Empowering rural women through cooperative formation

A Letter from Star Shea

We are so proud of our story, a small community college set to provide subsidised education to the disenfranchised women children of the region, that has grown into a prosperous syndicated farm and producer of the finest Shea products. We are working towards empowerment and employment through local economy and traditional practices. We now have international partnership through Ecocert, UK and US interest, growing our network into a vanguard space of natural farming innovation.

We are set to produce harvests of Organic shea that will elevate local community and provide the market with a real alternative to animal products and the industrialised agriculature that continues to destory ecology world wide. We are earth harvesting*, farming the land based on a natural and sustainable yields with no artificial fertilisers or toxic bi-products, an ancient farming practice that has become an innovation in todays over industrialised market.
