Vegan Béchamel Sauce Recipe
A dairy-free version of the classic white sauce made with vegan butter, flour, plant milk and seasoning. This versatile sauce comes together in minutes and provides a creamy base for countless dishes.
Today, we're making béchamel sauce. For this, you'll need 50 grams of vegan butter, a pinch of salt and pepper, 50 grams of flour, 500 millilitres of milk, and that's it.
Heat up a pan and place the vegan butter to melt. Add your flour and start mixing. Then add your milk, salt and pepper, mix it in, and it is ready to be served.

- 50g vegan butter
- 50g flour
- 500ml milk
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of pepper
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat.
- Add the vegan butter and allow it to melt completely.
- Add the flour to the melted butter and mix thoroughly.
- Gradually pour in the milk while continuously stirring.
- Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Continue stirring until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and serve.
Goes great with: Lasagne, cauliflower cheese, or vegetable gratins. Try adding grated vegan cheese for a cheesy sauce, or use as a base for creamy pasta dishes. Also perfect for making croquettes or as a binding sauce in savoury pies.
